She's looking good :) Pity about the sound though :giggle: she needs love.

Don't be mean :p

Yes, she's taken a bit of a beating somehow - I'm sure you've seen some of the damage inside. Fortunatly we're only another thousand away from our target of £40,000 :)

Even a mere TUNING would make a world of difference... which I would do myself... if Nigel hadn't lost the key for the organ case.

In his defence, you can't tune the Principal 8' at all - you physically cannot get to it to tune it... so it's not been tuned once since it was installed in 1952. Part of the overhaul will involve moving the whole case to the front of the chamber (where the console used to be) so that it speaks directly into the church. Access to the windchests will be through a new door built into the back. They're also going to do away with the window. Honestly, who thought putting the organ between a single-glazed window and a set of electric heaters would be a good idea? Temperature variations of 30+ degrees accross the width of your average Open Wood rank is not good.

She has an 8' Principal? I thought all there was were Diapasons, Octaves and Super Octaves...

The 8' is in the Pedal. Both manuals have Open Diapason 8'', while the Great has Octave 4' derived from the Open Diapason, and the Swell has Principal 2'.
